Histories

This section of the website is dedicated to John Armstrong and Scott Blair.  Many moons ago, when John was looking to open a regional promotion called Mid-South Wrestling, he decided he wanted to a different route than the usual fed where the first show you read was the very first show in the promotion’s history.  He wanted to start a promotion “in progress” where there would be a history… years or decades of history in fact to draw upon as storyline and character depth.  So, he and Blackie set about to create a history for MSW… a rich and vibrant history that was written so well, you often felt like you were there for it and were dying to read more about what had happened.

Upon launching the AWA, I knew that I wanted to create a richer world for us to play in.  With so few e-feds in our universe,  I wanted to create our own competition… I wanted to create international partners with their own histories to draw upon for stories… and most of all, I wanted to develop territories that existed in the AWA’s world so that we didn’t need excuses as to where some of these characters were hiding during the “boom period” of e-wrestling.

So, in this area of the site, you will find the histories of fictional promotions like the Texas-based Premier Championship Wrestling, the home to the legendary Lynch family… like Tiger Paw Pro, the #1 promotion in all of Japan and a “sister promotion” to the AWA with a rocky relationship history between the two…

This area is also the host to articles spotlighting the histories of individual characters – telling the story of the careers of men like Todd Michaelson who has existed in our “real” universe since the mid-90s and men like “Big” Jim Watkins who was created a few years ago but has a rich history to draw from.
